3D DESIGN OF THE FORMER MANSION OF THE LEGENDARY OZZY OSBOURNE
A 3D visualization made by me of a beautiful villa in Beverly Hills, California. Better known as the former home of rockstar Ozzy Osbourne and his family. They lived here for a few years and recorded the series called "The Osbournes" here. Later, singer Christina Aguilera came to live here and gave her own identity to this villa, which still has some gothic features of the previous resident Ozzy Osbourne. I am a lover of beautiful and special real estate. This house is definitely a gem on my favorites list, how it went:
The house was built in 1988, unfortunately little is known about the situation at that time. But what we do know is that in 1999 The Osbournes bought the house. The house was completely renovated at that time and can actually be considered as new. This probably took a long time, because in 2002 the series The Osbournes started and in the first episodes you can see that there is still a lot of work going on in and around the house. My interest came from the design of the house, the beautiful Mediterranean elements and the large high rooms I found magnificent. In addition, the beautiful large backyard with thematic swimming pool and guesthouse immediately caught my eye. At first the backyard had more grass, but Ozzy decided to turn it into a patio because it would stay cleaner with the dogs.
But what about the materials? Well, the garden is provided with terracotta stones with a motif of blue glazed tiles in pairs of two. Many graceful palm trees and the large outdoor kitchen are the absolute eye-catchers. The high large entrance of the house should not be missed. Inside, all rooms have high ceilings and a fireplace, the central hall with the sweeping staircase gives a spacious entrance. The kitchen is made in Mediterranean style, and at the time decorated by Sharon Osbourne with English traditional accents.
However, when the house was sold and Christina Aguilera took over, she had a different vision of the design, but fortunatly, the beautiful kitchen was spared with only some adjustments. The gothic elements of The Osbournes should not be missing either, the crosses, the church windows and doors are also a prominent part of the house.
My wish was to make a beautiful 3D animation of the house, first of the exterior, later also of the interior, but then taken through my vision of today.
Here are some of my renders and pictures of the house in Beverly Hills.

BLOG : HOW WE BREATHED NEW LIFE INTO A THEN INNOVATIVE CONCEPT FROM 1970.
HOW IT STARTED
Perhaps you know them, the well-known holiday bungalows of Sporthuis Centrum, later the well-known Center Parcs. The first series of these well-known concrete bungalows were designed in the late 1960s by the then well-known architect: Jaap Bakema. The founder of Center Parcs, Piet Derksen, wanted to bring something new to the market, where people could enjoy nature, but also each other. For decades, the bungalows have been a fixture for a well-known Center Parcs holiday. The bungalows were simple, arranged in a row, often built in clusters of about 8 bungalows. They were built with concrete blocks as high as a construction worker on an inverted masonry tub, and finished with black stained wood. It was precisely that simplicity that appealed to people.
Jaap Bakema sought the connection with nature everywhere in the design. For example, you could not see any neighbours because of the rows, so you felt like you were the only one in the forest. All the bungalows also had large windows and sliding doors, something that people usually did not have at home. You could bathe in a bathtub, watch colour TV and each bungalow was equipped with a fireplace. It was a post-war development in the Netherlands where people learned to live with more "free time" and "weekends".

IN LATER YEARS THE BUNGALOWS BECAME A BIT LARGER AND MORE MODERN.
Over the years, and the changing wishes of the visitor, these bungalows also had to keep up with the times. And that is now becoming more and more of a challenge. Certainly the first series were designed and built in the 1970s. The later versions were already somewhat more spacious but still had the same recognisable design.
The "newer" versions of the bungalows designed in the 1980's by architect J. Fahmel.
NEW TIMES, SAME BUNGALOWS BUT WITH A NEW LOOK AND FEEL
We studied the concept and design of Jaap Bakema extensively to create a new exterior design, in which the same principles are maintained, but at the same time the bungalows are developed to meet current expectations. We again sought the connection with nature, we looked for types of wood that give it a new contemporary whole. We let the concrete blocks speak but we gave them a fresh makeover.
The impressions show how these bungalows are still very much alive, even after 50 years.
